If you are thinking about purchasing access to the tool or are looking for help during your use of it, here’s where you can do that.

Q: Where’s the strategy?

A: After writing the Tim’s Strategy blog for almost four years and creating tools, downloads and books to support your job search, career and life, we started getting asked a simple question.  People would say “Hey, love the site and appreciate everything you are doing, but where’s the strategy”.  They were looking for one place where it all comes together.  And while that happens to some extent in my job search books, there really wasn’t a single source for my philosophy or “strategy” on job search.  So now you have it in the new tool.

Q: If I purchase access to the job search strategy tool, what exactly do I get?

A: The tool is a structured, step-by-step process to establish a job search strategy.  Be sure to watch the intro video on the home page. As one user said, “It’s like tax software for your job search”.  A complex and often misunderstood process is broken down into smaller, “easier to chew” pieces.  And there is significant help (including video) at every step.  Specifically, the tool delivers the following:

• Identification of clear and specific job search objectives (plus help with target companies)
• A personal branding strategy and profile
• A complete set of personal marketing materials (resume, cover letter, bio, business card, elevator pitch, references)
• A targeted and customized networking strategy
• A purposeful strategy for interview preparation

Q: Who should use this tool?

A: This tool is intended for anyone who is missing the structure and strategy for a successful job search.  If you are impulsive and inefficient.  If your search has continued for months without much success, you should consider using it.  Especially if you are open to writing your own content at each step and just need guidance. If you are considering using a career coach or resume writer instead, we won’t argue with you.  We regularly promote the use of a qualified career expert.  In fact, we have a list of great ones in our career expert directory.

Q:  Is the tool available outside of the United States?

 A: The tool (in this first phase) is optimized for residents of the United States.  While a significant portion of the tool can be used successfully from anywhere in the world, a few of the tool steps offer specific, location-based help that is not available yet outside the U.S.  If you are outside the U.S. and use the tool, perhaps you can share some ideas to optimize for non-U.S. residents.  We would love your ideas.  Let us know.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Since we are aware of the burden that can come with job loss, we broke the cost of the software down into two components.  First, there is an upfront access fee of $149.99.  Second, there is an annual subscription of $19.99 to maintain your data and keep the software updated with new features. If you maintain your subscription ($19.99), you’ll never pay another upfront fee. There are NO monthly fees.

Q:  Do you have any special pricing for church, free job search networking groups or other charitable groups?

A: Yes, We have a soft spot for churches and anyone else who delivers job search advice and support for free to people who really need it.  Send us an email and we can talk about ways to make a group program work for you.

Q:  How about discounts for job seekers that are struggling financially, are a veteran or a senior?

A: From the beginning, Tim’s Strategy has been about giving back.  All of the time and effort put into the site historically has been without any cost (with the exception of Tim’s books) to job seekers. Tim speaks for free all the time to networking and church groups that don’t have a budget. So you might expect we’d be open to this idea.  If you have a significant hardship and would like to be considered for a discount or, in extreme situations, a scholarship (no upfront fee), please send us an email.  And tell us your story.

Q:  How do I get additional help to complete each step of the tool?

A: Certain steps will require you to write content.  If you are not a good writer or struggle to create aspects of your story, we can connect you with a career expert to help.  Send us an email and we’ll hook you up with someone we trust.

Q:  How long will it take to complete the tool?

A:  For the fastest and most prepared users, the tool will take 4-6 hours to complete.  Others who are just getting started in their search will get the most benefit but will need much more time.  For this second group, completing the tool could take a few days or more.  Again depending on the user’s ability to write content for themselves and decide on a direction for their search.

Q:  Do I need to download and install any software?

A:  No, everything is kept securely on our servers.  Your password is encrypted.  You can access your data at any time from anywhere in the world.

Q:  Who can see my data (job search objectives, etc)?

A:  You can choose to make a version of your profile public so that others can see it and be reminded of your objectives.  This can be toggled on and off from your private profile you see when you are signed in to the tool.

Q:  Can I share my account with other job seekers to use at the same time?

A: Every user account is custom so sharing an account wouldn’t do you much good.  It’s really one account per user.

Q: How can I get my money back?

A: We hope you will love and receive great value from your use of this job search strategy software.  However, if you are not completely satisfied with the results, please let us know and we will refund your money.
